Prior to the season, refunds may be issued to individuals who are unable to play due to a variety of conflicts and circumstances including personal schedule changes, over commitments and change of interest.

After the season has begun, refunds may only be issued due to injury or relocation (player moves to a different community).  A doctor’s note may be required in the case of injury.  Refunds issued after the start of the season will be less a $20 processing fee and then pro-rated per the number of weeks into the season.  After the season has begun, refunds will not be issued for schedule conflicts or over-commitments.

Refunds will not be issued to whole teams who pull out of the league for any matter, including disagreement over division placement.

  • Guest Playing

Only current, registered players in good standing may play in Augusta United’s Adult Programs.  Guest playing is allowed in Augusta United SC’s Adult Programs, only by players that are registered in the current season.

Guest playing is allowed between Augusta United and SOCA-Charlottesville.

The Captain should identify the guest players to the Referee and the opposing team’s Captain.

No guest playing is allowed in a postseason playoff or championship match.

  • Uniforms

Augusta United will supply team uniforms.

  • Red Cards

Players and spectators may be ejected by the referee for a variety of reasons.  Referees will report all ejections in their match report.  Every ejection will result in an automatic, no appeal, one game suspension for the individual as is standard in all FIFA sanctioned competitions.  Two yellows equals a normal red except in the one WISL exception listed below.  The suspension is to be served in the next game of the team the player is registered to.  No guest playing is allowed until the player has served their suspension.  The team captain should help ensure this suspension is served.

Additionally, any player who has received a red card may not be replaced during the game the red card was issued and the player’s team must play down a player for the remainder of the game (*Exception – In WISL matches a two yellow = red carded player may be replaced by another player to keep the teams even sided.  The ejected player must still serve a one game suspension in the next match, however.  Straight red carded players still may not be replaced in WISL matches.).  Any red card issued may be cause for a full Conduct Committee review and possible further sanctions.  The Director of Referees will consider the offense and make a decision based upon the referee’s report whether to take the ejected player before the Conduct Committee or not.

For more information regarding at rules and regulations please refer to the Captain’s handbook.

  • Weather Info

Always check the Augusta United SC FB and Website for field closures before leaving for your match. Fields can be closed at any time as weather is unpredictable. There are two places you can check for weather updates and field closings. The front page of this website is updated regularly with field closing messages and Augusta United’s Facebook. On weekends we make an initial determination by 8:00am and then update as necessary throughout the day. On weekdays we make an initial determination by 2:00pm and then update as necessary throughout the evening. If bad weather arrives right at game time or during a game, the referee has the authority to make a field closing determination on site.

    Medical Insurance

A part of each player’s registration fee goes towards a medical insurance plan.  The medical insurance that Augusta United SC players are entitled to is run through the United States Adult Soccer Association and our state association the Metro DC Virginia Soccer Association.

If you are a registered player and are injured while playing in an Augusta United SC sanctioned match you may be eligible for insurance coverage of your medical expenses.  The first step is to contact the Augusta United Sc office to notify them of the injury.  There is a six section form that is associated with filing a claim.  Augusta United SC will sign the form and verify the player’s participation.  The rest of the form is completed by the injured player.

The player should mail the form and all bills as well as estimates of benefits from their regular insurance company to the address provided on the claim form.  The state association will process the claim and send it to the insurance company.  Augusta United SC will not be involved in determining coverage nor will the state association.  The club’s and state’s role is to verify that the player in question is a player in good standing who has paid dues and is eligible for coverage of injuries sustained while participating in Augusta United SC programs.  Questions pertaining to this coverage should be directed to the insurance company.  The insurance company will be put in touch with you by the MDCVSA once you have filed your claim.

You have 30 days from the date of the accident to file a claim or as close to that as is reasonably possible.

There is a $500 deductible associated with this insurance coverage.

This medical insurance is designed to be a secondary medical insurance.  If you have your own insurance you should use that insurance first to cover your expenses.  This medical insurance will then cover any additional expenses beyond what your insurance will cover minus the $500 deductible.

If you have no medical insurance of your own, this plan will act as your primary insurance.
